Hi! I’m Victoria Liuzzi, a therapist in New York City with a passion for supporting individuals through life’s inevitable highs and lows. I work with adults in various life stages navigating trauma, anxiety, substance use disorders, and life transitions. My goal is to create a space where you feel empowered to be the change you want to see for yourself.
Specialties and Who I Work With
I specialize in supporting individuals who are:
- Coping with anxiety, fear, and self-criticism
- Healing from complex trauma and attachment-based wounds
- Looking to explore their relationship with themself and others
- Managing substance use disorders, life transitions, and chronic stress
Stress and Anxiety
Life can often have periods of stress and anxiety that can be overwhelming. In session, you will receive support in building skills to help you move through your anxiety and stress.
Trauma and Identity
I work with clients who have experienced trauma and feel a loss of personal identity from their adverse experiences. Together, we will create a space to reclaim your inner voice, all in a compassion focused and nonjudgmental environment.
Navigating Change
Change can often come with feelings of discomfort or distress about experiencing the unknown. We will begin to process those feelings and tap into your inner resilience.
Therapy Approach
I’m passionate about cultivating a space rooted in authenticity, empathy, and human connection. Bearing witness to my client’s stories and experiences is one of the greatest privileges of my job! I’ve found it important to show up as my authentic self in sessions, and my hope is that you do the same. In our sessions, I utilize both cognitive techniques and somatic practices to create a holistic approach of connecting with mind and body. Together, we collaborate in our session to identify goals and harness your strengths to move toward change and healing.
Background & Training
I received my Master of Social Work from Stony Brook University, and my training blends practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. I’ve worked primarily with community based organizations that focus on empowering marginalized communities. These experiences have further affirmed both a trauma informed and culturally humble perspective in my practice.
Location & Availability
I see clients in person at our Midtown Manhattan office near Grand Central, and virtually across New York State. I accept Aetna insurance, offer sliding scale options, and provide superbills for other plans. Sessions are available on weekdays and evenings.
