About Me

Why may someone benefit from collaborating with a psychotherapist? Humbly answered, because a therapist can help provide the insight and perspective that sometimes we alone cannot see. Sometimes, we need a professional who is able to listen skillfully with an open mind, inquires thoughtfully, utilizes experience, and integrates evidence-based practices. Through this collaboration with a skilled psychotherapist, a person can feel more fulfilled, balanced, and healthier. And I am here to help you. First, I want you to know that you always have my respect. Our conversations will be rooted in transparent honest dialogue. You are courageous. I recognize how challenging it can sometimes be to sit across from a stranger and begin divulging personal details of your life – which may be details you’ve never previously discussed with another. But I see you are motivated to make these changes. You are hopeful that these healthier behaviors can become ingrained.

My role as a psychotherapist is to walk hand-in-hand with you on your life journey,  to support you in developing a healthier and more empowered connection to yourself. I implore my skills, experience, and a myriad of evidence-based practices. I also heavily rely on your engagement and commitment to the therapeutic process. Through this collaborative process, we will develop a strong foundation built upon trust, respect, empathy, honesty, and curiosity. In talk therapy, we explore what’s brought you here. Together, we will work towards unpacking those key life nuggets, to gain a deeper understanding and awareness of yourself and your world (ie. family values, cultural identities, sexual identities, systemic injustice, work-life imbalance). We focus on you, your needs, your dreams, and we will create momentum to get you there.

Our world is ever-changing. Thus, we are continually challenged and growing as individuals. However, there can sometimes be challenges in figuring out how to incorporate change in a productive, compassionate, and satisfying way. This is where I come into play, as your psychotherapist. I provide a safe space where you as an individual can come and be however you are. This allows us to understand where you are today, as well as where and how to move ahead meaningfully.

In couples’ work, my client is the couple, not different individuals. As such, my focus is on your relationship and how you each impact this relationship. While we may at times concentrate on one individual, it’s in an effort to understand a specific impact on the relationship dynamics, so that meaningful change can manifest. Through my skills, evidence-based practice, compassion, and empathy, I work so that together we can identify the needs, desires, and wishes of the relationship. Much like my work with individuals, my work with relationships relies on your trust, transparency, and vulnerability. By taking these chances, we can more deeply appreciate where you are and why.

I received my Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Stonehill College, before leaving corporate America and returning to graduate school to secure my Masters in Social Work from Fordham University.
