“I love connecting with people, by building a warm and open space where we can explore stuff that might feel vulnerable but is crucial for healing. I bring in creative and mindful vibes to make things feel healing and restorative, all while tailoring the experience to your unique needs.”
About Me
Hello! I’m Courtney, a licensed mental health counselor and relational therapist passionate about the healing power of human connection. I believe in the importance of showing up as my authentic self in the therapy room, creating a warm and open space where you can feel safe to explore vulnerable topics. I view this as the first, most important step toward healing and personal growth. I recognize that the human experience is often deeply complex and painful, yet has the potential to be beautiful and fulfilling as well.
My Approach
I see therapy as a collaborative and empowering journey, where you are the expert of your own experience. My role is to guide and facilitate your self-exploration, helping you uncover unconscious patterns and integrate new insights into your life. I approach therapy holistically, considering all aspects of your life and identity. By blending psychodynamic principles with somatic techniques, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help you nurture your mind-body connection and tap into the wisdom of your inner self.
In our sessions, I listen with curiosity, ask thought-provoking questions, and offer insights to help you gain clarity and self-awareness. My therapeutic style is grounded in empathy, humor, creativity, and mindfulness. I work from an affirmative, anti-oppressive, body-positive, and sex-positive framework, ensuring a safe, non-judgmental environment for all.
My Specialties, Experiences, and Training
I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, identity exploration, disordered eating, and relationship challenges. With training at the University of Florida and internship experience at a residential facility for PTSD and substance use, I’ve deepened my understanding of how past experiences shape present reality.
A little something personal!
When I’m not in the therapy room, I love spending time with my dog, Bella, experimenting with film photography, and going to live music shows.
