Hi, I’m Courtney, a licensed mental health counselor and relational therapist based in New York City. I support adults navigating anxiety, trauma, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. My goal is to create a warm and affirming space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore your inner world.
Specialties & Who I Work With
I specialize in supporting people who are:
- Living with anxiety, shame, and self-criticism
- Healing from trauma, attachment wounds, or painful family dynamics
- Untangling relationship patterns and communication challenges
- Looking to engage in identity exploration around gender, sexuality, culture, or life roles in an affirming and supportive space
- Seeking to reconnect with themselves through mind-body awareness and inner healing
I often work with people who are carrying the weight of painful past experiences, whether from trauma, substance use, or complex relationship dynamics, and are ready to begin untangling how those experiences have shaped their lives. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, shame, or a sense of disconnection from themselves and others, and come to therapy feeling stuck or unsure about how to move forward. Some are in the midst of life transitions, exploring their identities, grieving what has been lost, or questioning long-held beliefs, and are looking for a space where they can show up fully and be met with warmth, curiosity, and support.
Others have spent years pushing through, functioning well on the outside while feeling overwhelmed or unseen on the inside. Some are beginning to recognize patterns that no longer serve them, whether in relationships, with their bodies, or in the ways they cope, and want to approach those patterns with more compassion and intention. Therapy can be a place to slow down, reconnect with your inner wisdom, and begin to heal not just the symptoms, but the deeper wounds beneath them. Together, we will create a space where all parts of you are welcome and where meaningful change can unfold at your own pace.
Therapy Approach
My approach is relational, holistic, and deeply collaborative. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly seen, so I show up as my authentic self and invite you to do the same. I blend psychodynamic insight with somatic practices, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support healing on both emotional and body-based levels.
In our work together, I’ll listen with curiosity, ask thoughtful questions, and offer reflections to help you build awareness and clarity. I practice from an affirmative, anti-oppressive, body-positive, and sex-positive lens, and I strive to create a space that’s inclusive, non-judgmental, and tailored to your needs.
Background & Training
I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida and received clinical training at a residential treatment center for trauma and substance use. My experience has shaped my commitment to trauma-informed, inclusive care that honors the complexity of the human experience.
Location & Availability
I see clients in person at our Midtown Manhattan office near Grand Central, and virtually across New York State. I accept Aetna insurance, offer sliding scale options, and provide superbills for other plans. Sessions are available on weekdays and evenings.
