At Holistic Psychotherapy NYC, we bring together 
relational, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and somatic approaches, and combine it with a deep

Connection

We recognize the deep connection between mind and body.

Our therapists integrate mindfulness, breathwork, and
somatic experiencing alongside traditional talk therapy to
create a holistic approach to healing.

Healing takes time, and self-compassion is a powerful tool for
growth. Our goal is to help clients cultivate self-compassion
rather than self-judgment. We don’t see people as broken or
in need of fixing—we see them as human, worthy of empathy
respect, and support.

and respect. Our approach is not about telling clients what
to do but rather empowering them to access their own inner
wisdom and strengths. Every individual has the capacity for

Meet Our Founders

Vanessa Kensing, LCSW
& Sarah Spitz, LCSW

Vanessa and Sarah met in 2016 and connected over a shared
therapeutic philosophy. After establishing successful psychotherapy
practices of their own, they joined to found Holistic Psychotherapy NYC
in 2020. Vanessa now serves as Clinical Director, while Sarah is the
Director of Clinical and Administrative Operations. Together, they’re
proud to lead a team of connected, compassionate, collaborative, and
culturally conscientious practitioners—supporting people like you on
your journey toward healing.
