Therapy for PTSD

  1.  Have you experienced distressing or overwhelming events in your life that continue to affect your daily functioning and well-being?
  2. Do you find yourself experiencing symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, or avoidance behaviors that may be linked to past traumatic experiences?
  3. Are you struggling with feelings of shame, guilt, or self-blame related to past traumas?
  4. Do you feel disconnected from yourself, others, or the world around you as a result of past traumatic events?

PTSD Therapy might be right for you.

Similar to EMDR therapy, PTSD therapy recognizes the importance of addressing trauma through various therapeutic techniques and interventions. Through tailored approaches, individuals can process and integrate distressing experiences, fostering resilience and restoration.

Our therapeutic framework involves comprehending early experiences, developing coping strategies to mitigate lingering effects, and incorporating culturally sensitive methods to address trauma associated with racism and discrimination. Within our sessions, we prioritize validating emotions, exploring past experiences, and nurturing empowerment.

In the presence of anxiety and depression, our seasoned therapists are dedicated to guiding individuals toward clarity and the journey of profound healing.

We Provide PTSD Therapy for…

Single Incident Trauma

A single-incident trauma refers to a distressing event that occurs suddenly and involves exposure to a threatening or harmful experience. This type of trauma is characterized by its acute and isolated nature, impacting individuals emotionally, psychologically, or physically. Examples of single-incident traumas include accidents, natural disasters, or violent encounters, and their effects can vary widely depending on the individual.

Development Trauma / Complex PTSD

Developmental trauma encompasses adverse experiences or disruptions during a person’s formative years that impede healthy emotional, cognitive, or social development. This type of trauma typically occurs over an extended period, often in childhood, and can result from neglect, abuse, or instability in caregiving relationships. The consequences of developmental trauma may manifest in challenges with attachment, self-regulation, and interpersonal relationships throughout the individual’s life.

Race-related trauma

Racism-related trauma stems from systemic discrimination, microaggressions, or overt acts of racism experienced by individuals or communities. This type of trauma can have profound psychological and emotional effects, contributing to feelings of alienation, hypervigilance, and a sense of constant threat. All our therapists practice from an anti-oppressive and anti-racism framework to aid in the exploration and healing of these experiences.
